Privacy Policy
Fovcus Vitál does not collect your data. There's no account and no sign-up. Your weight, BMI, blood-pressure and heart-rate readings stay on your device — no cloud sync, no tracking, no ads. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the Fovcus Vitál app (Weight, BMI, Blood Pressure & Heart Rate), published by Ross Cowen trading as Fovcus. By using the app you agree to the handling of information described below.
What we collect
Nothing. Fovcus Vitál contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party software development kits. The developer never receives your information, and the app's App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
What the app stores, and where
- Your readings: the weight, BMI, blood-pressure and heart-rate entries you log are stored locally on your device.
- Your settings: details you choose to enter — such as height and sex, used only to calculate your personalised healthy-weight range and ideal body weight — are also kept on your device.
- Heart rate from Apple Health: if you choose to link to Apple Health, Fovcus Vitál reads heart-rate data from your Apple Health database on your device. This data is never sent to Fovcus or any external server — it remains in your local Apple Health storage.
This information is used solely to show you your charts, statistics and reference zones inside the app. It is not transmitted anywhere.
Does any data leave your device?
No. Fovcus Vitál has no cloud sync and makes no background uploads. Your health information stays on your device unless you choose to remove it.
Accounts and sign-in
None. The app never asks you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address or any personal details.
Apple Health integration
If you choose to link Fovcus Vitál to your Apple Health app, the app reads heart-rate data from your local Apple Health database. Apple Health operates under Apple's privacy terms (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). Your Apple Health data is never sent to Fovcus servers — it remains on your device.
Permissions we do not use
Fovcus Vitál does not request or use your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location. It only accesses Apple Health data if you explicitly grant permission.
Your control over your data
Because everything lives on your device, you are always in control. Deleting an entry removes it from the app, and removing the app from your device removes its data. You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in your device Settings.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
The processing of your health data in Fovcus Vitál is based on your explicit consent — you choose to enter or link to Apple Health data. You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting the app or revoking Apple Health access. No data is processed without your active choice.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data — you can do this by deleting individual entries in the app, or removing the app entirely
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability — your data is stored in standard formats on your device

Data retention
All data is retained on your device until you delete it. Because Fovcus has no servers, there is no retained copy elsewhere. Once you delete data from your device or uninstall the app, it is permanently removed.
Children
The app is rated 9+ and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
