Everything you need to get the most out of Fovcus Vitál.
Getting started
Fovcus Vitál needs your height and biological sex to calculate your BMI targets and ideal body weight. Open the app and tap Settings to set these up first.
Logging your weight
Tap Log Weight on the dashboard. You can enter a value manually or point your camera at your scale display and the app will read the number for you.
- The camera works best with digital scales showing a clear decimal display.
- Make sure the display is lit and the number has settled before scanning.
- Readings are saved in kilograms. If your scale shows pounds, switch the unit toggle — the app converts automatically.
Logging blood pressure
Tap Log BP on the dashboard. Enter systolic and diastolic values manually, or point your camera at your blood pressure monitor display. Pulse is optional.
- The camera works best with monitors that show SYS / DIA labels alongside the numbers.
- Your reading will be classified automatically against clinical guidelines (Normal, Elevated, High Stage 1, High Stage 2).
Reading your history
Tap the History tab to see your weight, BMI, and blood pressure charts. Use the time selector to view the last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or all of your readings. The green band on the weight and BMI charts shows your healthy range at a glance.
Apple Health
Fovcus Vitál can read from and write to Apple Health if you grant permission. To enable or change this, go to iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Fovcus Vitál.
App Lock
You can enable Face ID protection in Settings → App Lock. Once enabled, the app will require Face ID each time it is opened.
Troubleshooting
The camera isn't reading my scale
- Make sure the display is well-lit and the reading has fully settled.
- Hold the phone steady and fill the frame with the display.
- If scanning still fails, tap Enter manually to type the value.
My charts are empty
Charts need at least one saved reading to display. Log a weight or blood pressure reading and then open History.
My healthy weight range isn't showing
Open Settings and make sure your height is entered.
Apple Health isn't syncing
Go to iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Fovcus Vitál and check that both read and write permissions are enabled for Weight and Blood Pressure.
I've lost my data after reinstalling
All data is stored locally on your device and is not backed up to iCloud. If you delete the app, your data is permanently removed.
