Who we are

Fovcus Vitál is an iOS health tracking app that lets you log your weight, BMI, and blood pressure. It is built and maintained by Ross Cowen, the same developer behind the Fovcus vision journal app.

What data the app stores

All data you enter is saved locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

  • Weight readings and timestamps
  • Blood pressure readings (systolic, diastolic, pulse) and timestamps
  • Your height and biological sex (used to calculate BMI targets and ideal body weight)
  • App lock preference (Face ID on/off)

Camera

If you use the camera feature to scan your scale or blood pressure monitor display, the app processes the image entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The image is used only to read the numbers shown on screen — it is never stored, saved to your photo library, or sent anywhere.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, Fovcus Vitál can read from and write to Apple Health. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. We never access any Health data beyond weight and blood pressure.

Face ID / App Lock

If you enable App Lock, Face ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS. Fovcus Vitál does not receive or store any biometric data.

Analytics and advertising

There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no crash reporting tools in Fovcus Vitál. We have no visibility into how you use the app.

Third-party services

Fovcus Vitál uses no third-party services. There are no external SDKs, no cloud backends, and no payment processors. The app is free with no in-app purchases.

Children's privacy

Fovcus Vitál is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal data from any user regardless of age.

Your rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete the app at any time to remove all data. There is no account to close and no data held on our servers.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
